Laboratory Technician

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join the Neurogenetics Department of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.
The Neurogenetics Department provides diagnostic services, carries out research and provides educational programmes. The department serves as a reference laboratory mainly for rare neurogenetic and other neurological diseases offering molecular diagnosis, carrier detection, family analysis and prenatal diagnosis. In addition, the Department offers the National Prevention Programme for Friedreich ataxia in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
This is a, permanent, full-time position and the starting monthly gross salary is €1,405.16 plus 13th salary (salary scale: A2/A5/A7+2)
JOB SUMMARY
The successful candidate will contribute to the diagnostic activities of the Department. In particular, duties include:
- Sample reception and preparation
- Database entries (sample/patient information, results)
- Dispatch of reports
- Diagnostic procedures
- General laboratory and office duties, supporting the smooth operation of the Department
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A high school diploma
- Command of the Greek and English language
- Basic computer skills
- Interpersonal and organisational skills
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
- Prior laboratory experience
